MLK Jr. Memorial – Million Motorcyclists Motorcade (M5 Project)

Greetings,

Have you ever wondered what our lives would be like without the contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.? Would we be able to hold non-violent protests that produce victorious results? Would we have the Civil Rights act of 1964? Could an average citizen be radio celebrities, billionaires, or seek the office of the President of the United States ? All of our lives have been touched by the contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He has helped shape American and international fundamental values of democracy, justice, hope, and love. He became our social conscience by creating social awareness of the injustices inflicted not only on African Americans, but people from all walks of life.

Bikers With Heart and Motorcyclists Who Care, in partnership with the
Washington, DC Martin Luther King, Jr., National Memorial Project Fundraising Foundation Inc., have joined together to host and implement the Martin Luther King, Jr., Memorial Million Motorcyclists Motorcade (M5 Project) on the Charles County Fairgrounds 8440 Fairground Rd La Plata, MD 20646 over the Labor Day Weekend (August 29 - Sept 1, 2008) to raise the remaining $27 million dollar balance of the $120 million payment is raised by the community.

On the grounds there will be CAMPING, CAMPING, CAMPING (special charge for electricity) , a candlelight vigil, gospel ceremony to honor Dr. King on Friday, August 29th. On Saturday the grounds will provide entertainment for the children with a moon bounce , face painting with Chubbzy the Clown, meet Redskins Chief Z, Red Cross Blood Drive, Stunt ride entertainment, games of dare and skill, Dr. FeelGood Band and show, Custom Car, Truck & Bike show, more entertainment with the Gridlock Band and dancing with DJ Super Kool, great food and drink and vendors. Sunday morning at the grounds is ground zero for staging of the Million Motorcyclists Motorcade (7am - 10am), departure time is 10am to honor the 45th Anniversary of the March on Washington in 1963 and view the location of the Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial on the National Memorial with complete police escort.

Let us join together in the Community to implement the M5 Project and
show the world that we have not forgotten the contributions that
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. has made in our lives.

On August 29 – September 1, 2008, the everyday citizen and Motorcycle Community will stand together in the masses in support of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial on the National Mall in Washington , DC , to honor the 45th Anniversary of the
March on Washington that took place on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial on August 28, 1963, where Dr. King gave his “I Have a Dream Speech”.

This international event will go down in history as the largest motorcycle motorcade to financially support the first memorial on the National Mall in recognition of an average American committed to fairness, peace and bringing out the best of all Americans. Imagine, hundreds of thousands of citizens and motorcyclists making a pilgrimage to Washington , DC to support the memorializing of one of the most effective messengers of the American Dream - Freedom, Democracy and Opportunity for All; a noble quest that continues to influence humanity and societies throughout the world.

Your $35.00 financial registration contribution is tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law and will be recognized by future generations at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial’s Visitor Center . You will receive an official MLK T-shirt, patch, pin and your name registered in the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial Visitor Center kiosk on the National Mall in Washington , DC , when it is completed in 2009. This is the very first time a National Memorial will allow the average citizen to have naming rights on a National Memorial. A legacy you will be able to pass on for generations to come. The memorial is expected to have 22 million visitors a year when it is completed.

Dr. King made his move, now its time to make ours! For more information,

A thunder is being heard from the other side of the mountain top and it is approaching the nation’s capital with the ten’s of thousands of motorcyclists who will arrive on two wheels to build the “Dream” and make the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial a Reality!
