Chris Pfeiffer on DVD - Stunting for Life

Furthermore, he has toured all over the world with his Red Bull shows, performing to thousands of young fans of 'extreme' sports, who have witnessed his awe-inspiring, jaw-dropping stunt displays at exotic locations throughout Europe, America, Africa, Asia and Australia. A constant traveling companion for Chris during the past four years has been Bernd Hupfauf, an Austrian TV and video producer who has been documenting Chris’ every move for a new DVD - Stunting for Life - which gives an unique insight into the adrenalin-charged world of Chris Pfeiffer.

 

For Bernd, co-producing this DVD with Chris has been a real labor of love, but he believes that the finished product perfectly captures the essence of Pfeiffer, his determination to push the boundaries of freestyle riding and his natural joie de vivre, which has won him many fans the world over, as well as the admiration and respect of his peers in the stunt riding community.

 

"It's been a long journey for us to make this DVD but we're really pleased with the results," says Bernd, who is also Chris's agent. "I believe that he is in a league of his own in terms of his ability on a motorcycle, as well as his innovation and showmanship, so we wanted to make sure that the Stunting for Life DVD reflected this. We've sifted through more than 100 hours of raw footage shot over the past three-and-a-half years and have picked only the best bits for the DVD, which took us more than six months to edit."

 

 

Indeed, the DVD features over 80 minutes of action from Chris's travels, shows, sessions and competition appearances. For those who have only seen still photographs of Chris in action, the DVD brings to life all the tension, sounds, bravery, strength and skill involved in perfecting a new trick, or performing a gravity-defying 'combo' of stunts designed to thrill and entertain in equal measures. One of the many high points of the DVD is watching the different cultural reactions of people all over the world to his shows, from the polite applause received in Japan to the near hysteria he experienced from the crowds who watched him perform in Nigeria.

 

For Chris, to finally see the finished product after several years in the making is a dream come true: "I'm delighted with the end result, as I know how much hard work has gone into making this happen," he said. "It's strange to see the last three-and-a-half years of your life skillfully edited into 80 minutes worth of footage, but it's been a fantastic time and I think that clearly comes across in the DVD. I hope BMW riders and freestyle fans enjoy the ride as much as I have!"

 

The wait is also over for fans of the F 800 series, who first witnessed Chris win the 2006 Stuntwars competition on BMW Motorrad's eagerly-awaited parallel-twin - several months before it had even been launched to the public. Furthermore, the recent unveiling of the 87 hp F 800 R at the EICMA motorcycle show in Italy earlier this month finally gives Pfeiffer's fans the machine they have been waiting for. BMW Motorrad is expecting demand to be high for this exciting new model, which coincidentally, was accompanied on the BMW stand by a design prototype of a 'Chris Pfeiffer signature' show bike - much to the delight of Pfeiffer fans that visited the show in Milan, Italy.

 

CP - Stunting For Life will initially be on sale from December 1 in BMW Motorrad dealerships all over the world, priced at $24.95 in the USA (or local equivalent). It can also be purchased after this date from the online shop at the www.chrispfeiffer.com website or from www.throttleentertainment.com (USA buyers). After this preliminary period, it will go on general sale at all quality mass-market outlets.
