Track Day tips
Xplore News - Jun 6, 2007

Imagine: No speed limits. No cops. No double yellow lines. No soccer moms in SUVs. Just a big curvy road and no limitations except your own. Sound like a dream? It's not. You'll ride your own bike on a real race track where it's just you, your machine, and the pavement, in an environment as free from distraction and hazards as you'll ever find.

Mother's common sense loses to motorcycle mania
Irene Haskins, Columbia Daily Tribune - Apr 3, 2007

No matter how hard I try, I can't convince my son that I know what's best for him. Against my wishes and against all common sense, my son just bought a motorcycle. What really makes my blood curdle is that it's not his first. All my preaching and lecturing since he was knee-high to a Big Wheel has evidently gone in one ear and out the other. To my way of thinking, riding a motorcycle is the quickest way to the funeral home.

Britain's most powerful motorcycle, the Rapom V8
Visordown - Jan 26, 2007

If your idea of 'modified' is an R6 with a slip-on can, a steering damper and rim tape, then take a look at this. After spending hours in the garage trying to get your end-can to fit properly, you'll appreciate the work that's gone into the UK's most powerful motorcycle, the Rapom V8. Created by Nick Argyle, a 44-year old engineer from the Cotswolds, the huge 8.2 litre supercharged engine comes from Argyle's 'Monster Truck' and produces over 1000bhp, which we need not mention, is a figure more than five times more than the output of Kawasaki's ZZR-1400, the world's fastest production motorcycle.

Who is a rider?
Debby Kreider - Dec 8, 2006

As a working girl, I decided to buy my own bike. One that could provide some of the luxuries I craved. When we picked up that beautiful Lava Red Sunglow Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic all chromed out, I handed the keys to my husband. That action remains a great mystery to many people, but made perfect sense to me. I love to ride motorcycles, but I have no interest in driving a motorcycle; an amazing phenomenon to those unable to separate the joy of riding a motorcycle from the thrill of driving a motorcycle.

Pfeiffer wows the crowds "Down Under"
World of BMW - Nov 20, 2006

BMW Motorrad brought the 2006 European Stuntriding Champion, Christian Pfeiffer to Australia to demonstrate why he and his F 800 motorcycle are unbeatable. Performing in nine shows at the inaugural Brisbane Motorcycle Expo, Chris's show took place indoors in front of vast crowds. Despite a slippery concrete floor very different to his favoured asphalt surface, Chris spent much of his time on one wheel - front or rear - displaying his trademark dexterity despite difficult surface conditions.

Women enjoy their own motorcycle clubs
Star-Telegram - Nov 14, 2006

You hear them before you see them. The air-shattering rumble announces the arrival of Ladies on Wheels, who come barreling around the corner in all their black leather-clad glory, a high-octane celebration of unfettered femaleness. They are women. On motorcycles. Hear them roar. "It's very empowering," says Ladies on Wheels Vice President Debra Wickham, 42, a massage therapist who grew up riding dirt bikes in the Midwest and now powers around on a Yamaha V-Star 1100. "Often you see women riding on the backs of motorcycles. But this sport is growing and women are becoming more independent. They're not afraid to go out and ride by themselves. This group gives them the opportunity to do that."

Custom creatures
Texarkana Gazette - Nov 8, 2006

The art of a motorcycle is not always in what the manufacturer delivers to dealers. Much of the fun and distinction in owning a cycle comes down to the modifications and changes owners give their bikes, and the attention that work is given by the mechanics who know how to do the job. Two shops in Texarkana that do custom work on cycles are Custom Cycle, which has been in town for about 15 years, and a newcomer, Gargoyles Bike Werks, which just opened on Labor Day last year.
