2008 Harley-Davidson Dyna line features new FXDF Fat Bob

The bold new FXDF Dyna Fat Bob leads the 2008 line of Dyna performance factory customs from Harley-Davidson. Unmistakable behind dual headlamps and rolling on chunky, aggressive tires, the Fat Bob takes Dyna styling in a bold new direction. Other Dyna news for 2008 includes braided stainless steel brake lines as standard equipment on all models, and the availability of three Dyna models with a Limited Edition 105th Anniversary package of special paint, badges and serialization.

 

The Harley-Davidson Dyna family stays faithful to the formula established by the early factory customs produced by the Motor Company in the 1970s, bikes that combined Big Twin power with the style of the lighter FX front end. Over the years, the Dyna line has established a reputation for great handling and exhilarating performance.

 

All Dyna models are powered by a 1584 cc Twin Cam 96 powertrain with Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI) mated to the 6-Speed Cruise Drive transmission. In the Dyna platform, the Twin Cam 96 pounds out 91 ft.-lbs. of torque at 3000 rpm. Shared Dyna characteristics include the under-seat battery box, exposed rear shock absorbers, and a classic Fat Bob fuel tank with console.

New FXDF Dyna Fat Bob
A massive new presence in the Dyna family, FXDF Dyna Fat Bob takes factory-custom styling in a bold, new direction. The dual headlamps mounted between polished triple-clamps are a signature Fat Bob element. Chunky new tires front and rear are mounted on 16-inch Slotted Cast Aluminum wheels. The gleaming chrome Tommy Gun 2-1-2 exhaust – named for its slotted exhaust shield – snakes around the side of the black-and-polished Twin Cam 96 engine. Flat drag bars and forward foot controls put the rider in a position that's instant cool. (See separate release for more information on the FXDF Fat Bob).

FXDB Dyna Street Bob
A modern interpretation of the post-World War II "bobber" movement, the FXDB Dyna Street Bob appeals to the minimalist. A solo saddle, mini ape-hanger bars, and laced wheels speak to classic style. Wrinkle-black details add tough texture.

FXD Dyna Super Glide
The Dyna in it purest form, the FXD Dyna Super Glide plants Twin Cam 96 power under a solo seat in an agile Dyna chassis. It's all the motorcycle a rider could want. But this most-affordable Harley-Davidson Big Twin model also presents the ideal starting point for creative customization.

FXDC Dyna Super Glide Custom
Laced wheels, two-up seat and more chrome distinguish the FXDC Dyna Super Glide Custom. The speedometer is mounted on a chrome console atop the 5.1-gallon Fat Bob tank. This is Super Glide performance with a little extra flash and function.

FXDL Dyna Low Rider
The 25.8-inch seat height of the FXDL Dyna Low Rider is among the lowest in the Harley-Davidson line. Lower rear shocks, pull-back handlebar riser, mid-mount foot controls, raked-out fork and standard highway pegs contribute to its long-range comfort.

105th Anniversary FXDWG Dyna Wide Glide
Available only as a Limited Edition 105th Anniversary model in 2008, the FXDWG Dyna Wide Glide displays the classic chopper profile, with a Bobtail rear fender and wide, raked-out, 36-degree forks holding a 21-inch Chrome Laced wheel. Fat mini-ape hanger handlebar and a stepped seat complete the theme. A two-tone paint scheme in Anniversary Copper and Vivid Black is traced with orange and pale gold pin striping. A copper Bar and Shield tank cloisonné and 105th Anniversary badges adorn the air cleaner and timing cover inserts.
