Harley-Davidson adds more engines to its Reman program

New services have been added to the Engine Remanufacturing Program offered by Harley-Davidson Genuine Motor Accessories®. The Twin Cam 96™, Twin Cam 103™ and 2003-06 CVO™ Twin Cam 103 have recently been added to the “Reman” program that restores Harley-Davidson engines to factory specifications.

All 1999-06 Twin Cam Engines will be upgraded with Screamin’ Eagle® Hydraulic Cam Chain Tensioner and Oil Pump Kit (except ‘06 Dyna models). Remanufacturing also is now available for all 1999-later engines with a Screamin’ Eagle Street Legal Big Bore Stage I EFI Kit. The program will continue to accept 1984-later Evolution® 1340 engines, Twin Cam 88®, Twin Cam 88B™ and Twin Cam 95 engines.

The Harley-Davidson Reman program returns engines to original factory specifications. The program requires an authorized Harley-Davidson dealership to remove the engine, ship it to the Harley-Davidson Reman facility, and then reinstall the engine.

During remanufacturing, the engine is disassembled, rigorously inspected and components are remanufactured or replaced if they are worn beyond their service limits. The engine is repainted and hot-tested, and vehicle retains its original vehicle identification number (VIN). A Reman engine is usually returned to the dealer within two weeks, and carries a 12-month limited warranty.
