Pro Road Racer, Mike Morgan, suits up with Autolite during 2010 racing season

In an effort to generate awareness and name recognition in the motorcycle industry, the Autolite® brand, maker of premium application-specific spark plugs, has signed on to sponsor Mike Morgan of RIM Racing for the 2010 American Motorcyclist Association Pro-Racing Series.

“With the addition of Mike, we are excited about the 2010 season. He is a very talented rider who races with high quality products, so we should see some positive results,” said Sean Lyon, Senior Product Manager, Autolite.

Morgan joined the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) in 2003, consistently racing against, and sometimes beating, much larger teams. He was able to maintain a solid position last season, even after the AMA class structure changed from four classes to two. Morgan will be competing in six of the 10 races in 2010 with his debut at Road Atlanta in Braselton, GA.

“Signing with Autolite® is a huge boost for our team. This is an amazing opportunity for us.” said Morgan. While this is the first official year the Autolite brand is sponsoring him, Morgan has used Autolite products in the past. “Their spark plugs work flawlessly. I’ve tried several different sets and variations and they’re always great. I was on the track twice as much last year and still only used two sets.”

Morgan was present in the Honeywell CPG booth at the Dealer Expo in Indianapolis in February, along with his Suzuki GSX-R600, signing autographs and talking about the 2010 season.

Since its inception, the Autolite® brand has provided the automotive aftermarket and Original Equipment manufacturers with high quality ignition products. As a leading supplier of spark plugs for virtually all cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, snowmobiles and lawn care equipment, the Autolite® brand continues to reinvent itself with cutting-edge technology to meet the needs of today’s drivers, DIYers and powersports enthusiasts.
