The Colorado Health Care Association (CHCA) is proud to host the 3rd Annual Motorcycle and Scooter Poker Run, Saturday, May 30, 2009. All proceeds raised by this event benefit the CHCA Long Term Care Career Enhancement Scholarship Fund.
On Saturday, May 30, biker registration and breakfast will begin at 8:00 a.m. at Hallmark Nursing Center located at 3701 W. Radcliff Avenue in Denver. The ride continues with a drive-by of Rowan Community, Amberwood Care Center and Brookshire House on Asbury Circle; a live rock and roll band, Elvis impersonator and snacks during the stop at Highline Rehabilitation Center and Holly Heights Nursing Care Center; and the stop at Aurora Care Center offers a patriotic theme and live band. The ride concludes with a Country Western Hoe-Down/BBQ with prize giveaways at Brighton Gardens of Denver. The frail elderly and disabled residents at each facility stop look forward to this event each year. Some of our residents are former bikers themselves, but all enjoy the opportunity to talk with the bikers and look at their bikes.
