Over 2,000 civilians and army men were treated, April 2006, to a breathtaking acrobatic display with motorcycles by a team from the corps of signals, popularly known as the "Dare Devils", at Uri in Baramulla district today.

"In a brilliant display of split second precision movements, heart-stopping stunts and scintillating human formations on bikes, their performance thrilled everyone, including senior army and civil officers present at the function," a Defense spokesman said. He said the "Dare Devils" are the pride of the corps of signals. "Their display of breathtaking acrobatics with skill and extreme sense of devotion to duty is one of the major factors contributing to the high prestige of the corps."

Led by captain Rahul Julyal, some of the feats performed by the team included the fire jump (the driver jumps through a 182.88 cms diameter circular ring of fire), the cross jump (two drivers jumping from take off boards crossing each other in mid air), and the scissors ( the whole team divides into two parts and cross each other diagonally one after the other at breakneck speed). The team has performed at various prestigious events including the Asian games, SAF games, Afro-Asian games, National games, Army day and Republic Day celebrations.
