The Nevada Harley Owners Group Rally, in beautiful Boulder City, Nevada was attended by 250 plus Harley riders, several Gold Wingers and a few other cruiser/sport bikes. All festivities took place in the warm Nevada hospitality; from early morning seventies to highs of 100 plus during the afternoons.
Organizers provided ample opportunity for participation and fun with a variety games, rides, and events. Those that attended the Nevada State Rally had a great time!
Concerts, Riding Poker Run to Red Rock H-D, Las Vegas H-D & Henderson Harley-Davidson and points of interest in the Las Vegas region, self guided riding tours, a walking Poker Run in Boulder City, Armed Forces Ride Lunch, Scavenger Hunt, and meet and greet parties and BBQs were just some of the activities available.
Motorcycle operators tested their skills, sometimes against the clock and at other times against other riders. But the culture of motorcycle operator behavior among Harley riders is to do everything “while in total control.”
Also available were the always popular Harley-Davidson “Demo Rides.” Harley-Davidson provided a semi truckload of 2009 motorcycles and motorcycle operators could go from one model to the next to test drive any of the Touring, Softail, Wide Glides, Sportsters, V-Rods, and CVOs available. Wait time for the next ride was nearly non-existent.
There were a couple surprises. There were three vendors and while HOG Members in attendance were from 14 states and 3 different countries, only a few over 250 participants!?
J.T. Hasley, Regional Manager of Harley Owners Group, says that “State rallies out west are not usually large in attendance, typically because finding a date there is not conflict with chapter, dealer and other motorcycle events is tough.” “On this May weekend alone, there were 18 other events within a 250 mile radius of Boulder City” according to Hasley.
