At a rally on a recent Saturday morning, one dealer reported selling six new motorcycles before noon. That is good news for the economy and for motorcycling. On a sad note; Bruce Rossmeyer, owner of 15 motorcycle dealerships from Fort Lauderdale to Boston, died in a motorcycle accident on July 30th on a rural highway in Western Wyoming. Accompanied by five motorcycling buddies, on his way to Sturgis following a dealer show in Denver, Rossmeyer encountered an obstacle much larger than him. This is a reminder to all motorcyclists: Ride Alert... Arrive Alive! We are happy to report that we are seeing growth in all areas of our business: visitors to our site, new members, enhanced functionality and tools, new advertisers, and motorcycle news and reviews represent some of our growth. All growth is anticipated and results in more resources for motorcyclists and the motorcycling industry. This newsletter will alert you to some of the things we think you will find interesting. Our visitors are critical to our success. When you see news and information that you like or find helpful, please pass it along to your friends and other riders. U.S. SPECIAL OPS RESEARCH BENEFITS BIKERSMICROWIRE TECHNOLOGY A SENSATION IN HEATED CLOTHINGIt seems that on a daily basis consumers are bombarded with advertiser’s claims that products are new, improved, revolutionary, amazing, and so on. Rarely are those items worth the hype... that is until now. Gerbing’s Microwire technology is NEW this year, premiering in their new G3 and T5 heated gloves. Now it is available in their new Heated Jacket Liner. GET ON. SIT DOWN. SHUT UP.EXPANDING PASSENGER NOTIONS OF ACCEPTABLE RIDING BEHAVIOR.While the above slogan sold on t-shirts in Sturgis is meant to be humorous, there is some truth to it. Too many passengers, sorry ladies, ignore motorcycle riding etiquette, safety rules, and common sense. I recently had several opportunities to follow other motorcycles, in group riding events, riding two-up. The confusion the female passengers created during the rides was not only shocking, but amazing. Since when is it the passenger’s responsibility to signal the driver’s intent? BIKES AND BODIESJUST A CLICK AWAYWe have thousands of photos from rallies and events. Were you biting a weenie or competing in the slow ride at a rally? Did you enter your bike in a bike show? We might have your picture. Were you on Main Street in Sturgis in a thong? We definitely have your picture. Reminisce. See if we have candid shots of you having fun. Maybe we have a great shot of your bike or you on your bike. The photos are all there. Enjoy. THE CONE ZONEA WOMAN RIDES BETWEEN THE LINESWatching her ride motorcycle cone patterns, executing tight turns by dipping her bike to the floorboards, completing 20-ft circles and figure eights, one would assume she has been practicing for years. The reality is she just learned these skills three months ago at a precision riding class in Denver, Colorado. The class teaches the same precision riding skills that motor officers use every day. 400%HAT'S HOW MUCH OUR FACEBOOK FANBASE HAS GROWN!We welcome all our new Facebook fans.
