There are three important questions when considering a motorcycle lift. Will my bike be stable up on the lift? Can I work on my bike with out worrying about it falling due to weight shift or some other factor? Is the lift designed to interface with my motorcycle in way that will not damage any part of the motorcycle? The Pit Bull Motorcycle Lift provides a very favorable response to each of these questions.
First Impression
The Pit Bull Motorcycle Lift arrives in a corrugated container that is 49 ¾ inches by 25 ¾ inches wide by 6 ¾ inches deep and weighs in at approximately 130 lbs. It takes about 20 minutes to unpack the lift and complete assembly.
The red and black lift looks great! It is constructed of heavy steel and looks strong. The lift appears to be constructed of sufficient strength and quality to lift a heavyweight motorcycle without risk to the operator or motorcycle. The lift appears to be manufactured with attention to detail in design and construction.
The lift comes assembled, with the exception of attaching two wheels (straight castors) and the 6 ton hydraulic jack. Once you have completed these simple tasks, you are ready to hoist your motorcycle 25 inches into the air for cleaning, maintenance, storing your bike when not riding or maybe just to admire it. Features:
The Pit bull Motorcycle Lift, manual model, (differentiated from the air lift model), establishes a 48 ¾ inch by 30 inch footprint. Construction is of tubular steel and angle iron, and the frame is welded using a mig welding process. The lift is designed to lift 1450 lbs., which is approximately 650 lbs. more than is necessary for most “heavy” bikes; i.e., touring and cruiser bikes.
Additional features include:

Operation/Application:
Hoisting the motorcycle is simple and can be done confidently.
Maneuver the lift under the right side of the motorcycle, center it so that frame of the motorcycle is centered on the lift table, engage the brakes, and pump lift. Both front and rear motorcycle tires should come off of the ground at the same time. When the bike is raised to the desired height, and safety stops lowered to assure the motorcycle will not be lowered unexpectedly, you can now perform your detail and maintenance work as anticipated.
Perhaps not necessary, D-rings are available to secure the motorcycle to the motorcycle lift. This is good practice if work on the motorcycle may include sudden shift in weight or torque. If necessary, it is very easy to roll the Pit Bull Motorcycle lift with your motorcycle loaded on it.
When finished, lower the motorcycle by releasing the valve (valve screw is designed for finger tip control) on the jack. Operation is smooth and it is easy to control the speed of descent so the motorcycle returns to its kickstand.
Value:
The Pit Bull Motorcycle Lift is priced at $419.00 (actual current price may vary and can be obtained by visiting www.pitbullmotorcyclelifts.com), which is approximately two to five percent of MSRP of a cruiser or touring stock motorcycle. This is a very reasonable price to pay for the assurance that you and your motorcycle will be safe while detailing and performing maintenance functions.
Final Comments
Watson’s Manufacturing, LLC, AKA Pit Bull Motorcycle Lifts, not only manufacture a motorcycle lift that is strong and durable, but also practical. The lift will get the job done safely.
Claims of superior quality in design, manufacturing, strength, and performance made by Pit Bull Motorcycle Lifts – the Company – are valid.
I was surprised and impressed by the strength and quality of construction materials and manufacturing process. While the Company provides a Lifetime warranty, I doubt that I will need to use it. There are few moving parts and those that do move can be greased for years of maintenance free use. The lift is reinforced where parts may tend to wear; e.g., bushings in tubing where bolts go through and the steel stock and manufacturing process are of sufficient strength to stabilize weight up to the recommended 1450 lb weight limit.
In regard to practical; several features have already been emphasized in this review. However, consider the brakes on a motorcycle lift. Create a force between the lift and the surface on which it rests and you have brakes. Thread wing bolts vertically through nuts welded to the frame, and you have braking capacity. When engaged, increased weight on the lift means increased brake pressure, which means increased stability when operating the lift. Practical and functional…Very innovative!

I've seen this lift at various rallies and bike shows over the years. Always thought it was priced a bit high; however, I finally bit the bullet and bought one. Have to say, best money I've ever spent. Worth every penny and more. After years of using less expensive lifts... this is the first time I don't have to worry about the bike being unstable. Every claim the company makes is absolutely true.
About the only criticism would be the assembly instructions... a little vague, which could've been solved with a picture or two. Fortunately, if you just look at the lift for a minute or two, you can pretty much figure out how to put it together.
All in all, a fantastic product. Only wish I'd bought one years ago when I first saw it!
