First Gear heated motorcycle rider glovesDecember 7, 2011
Introduction
I didn’t have to be sold on heated gear…huge fan already, so when the opportunity presented itself to try Firstgear’s Heated Rider Gloves, I jumped at the chance. I understand there are some of you out there that need to prove to the world that you can ride in a pair of jeans and a sleeveless shirt year round; through rain, hail, snow, and cold, your wardrobe never changes. And, if that works for you, who am I to try to change you. But, if you do a lot of riding, want to extend your riding season, improve rider safety, and like to be warm, then heated riding gear is for you. It’s lightweight, comfortable, fits well, and keeps you toasty warm. I never leave home without it. Temperatures can change quickly when riding in the Rocky Mountains and heated clothing is lightweight and takes up very little room. Why ride without it? Cold, stiff hands make it difficult to operate a motorcycle safely. Firstgear’s Heated Rider Gloves will keep your hands toasty warm. They fit well and are not bulky or clumsy to wear. The gauntlet styling has both wrist and top hook and loop adjustable closures to secure the glove on your hand and keep the cold air out. The pre-curved fingers are flexible and include a finger-mounted, rubber face shield wiper. Features
For over 15 years, Firstgear has built a reputation on full-function, all-weather apparel known for quality fit, superior comfort, styling and rugged construction tough enough for the most extreme conditions. Whether you’re riding across town or cruising cross-country, the last thing you want to worry about is your gear. Firstgear’s heated rider gloves are constructed of soft, Grade A, top-grain drum-dyed exterior cowhide construction combined with a breathable, waterproof Agrotex membrane and Thinsulate interior make this a quality glove designed to keep your hands warm and dry. Guaranteed. Heated rider glove features include:
Quality
Like I said, Firstgear has built a reputation on full-function, all-weather apparel and is known for quality fit, superior comfort, styling and rugged construction tough enough for the most extreme conditions. Quality materials and workmanship can be seen in the stitching, closures, and construction of the gloves. The gloves fit my hands perfectly, meaning the tops of my fingers are at the end of the glove fingers and the area between my fingers is exactly where it belongs; not up at my knuckles. Reinforced palms and knuckle pads protect your hands prevent wear from your handlebars.
All Firstgear heated clothing interconnects, so heated gloves plug into the sleeve plug of a Firstgears’s heated jacket liner, and the temperature can be controlled by a Heat-Troller. The gloves heat quickly and evenly over fingers and the back of your hands reducing the risks of handling a bike in cold weather. Value
How do you put a value on warmth when you are cold or the ability to control a bike more safely? The styling, fit, construction, and materials make this an excellent value for our money. Retail Price $129.95 Also recommended would be the Dual Remote Control Heat-Troller Kit, which is a Hi tech wireless remote control that allows the wearer to separately control the amount of heat supplied to gloves, liner, socks, and/or pants. Retail Price $139.95 Final Thoughts
You can’t go wrong with these gloves. For the price you pay for a pair of good quality, leather gloves, you get Firstgear’s quality, fit, and heat features, too. I think you will agree that these gloves are worth the investment and keep your hands cozy warm. Click here for more information from First Gear.
