Leather Biker Patches, A Cycle Matters Editor Product ReviewMarch 1, 2013
Unlike traditional embroidered patches, Leather Patch brings a new level of design complexity to motorcycle patch products with a unique process of putting digital images onto leather similar to the way tattoos are applied. Photos are applied to genuine leather creating unique patches for bikers to express themselves, their beliefs, their lifestyle. The guys at Leather Patch are motorcyclists and the idea of leather patches is rooted in the biker lifestyle and culture. Combining 25+ years in the leather industry and their motorcycling experiences, they discovered an opportunity for leather patches and their goal is to "reinvent the Classic Biker Patch." They spent two years researching and developing a method of applying photo images to leather in a way the preserves the image quality and integrity.
A message all bikers can relate to... Features... Leather Patch starts with rich and soft top grain glove leather (cowhide). Each leather skin that comes into the factory is inspected and prepared by hand before applying the photos. Digital images are applied by hand using the unique Leather Patch application process. The result is that Leather Patch can take any digital image and create a unique leather patch. The patches will age over time, but will not rub off. "Under normal wear, these patches will last for years," according to Jason Pinsky, CoFounder of Leather Patch. Most of the patches measure 3.75" by 2.75" . Larger back patches are available at 10.5" by 13". Application... There are two ways to apply a leather patch. Patches can either be sewn onto a garment; e.g., jackets, shirts, chaps, etc., or you can purchase patches with 3M adhesive backing (Military Grade) that allows you to stick your patch to a garmet. This adhesive will permanently bond the patch to any surface after 72 hours.
USA Bald Eagle Flag... Value... These leather patches are more than patches. They are "expressions" of the photos' message and as the saying goes: "a picture is worth a thousand words." While we cannot confirm or dispute the company claim of longevity of the product, the leather will last and age like the leather to which each patch is applied. Pricing ranges from $10.00 for the smaller ones to $50.00 for the larger ones. Seeing these photos of actual patches really does not do the product justice. Pick one up and see for your self. We think you will agree that these leather patches are excellent vehicles to express your claims. Click here for more information from Leather Patch.
