How many of you shine your bike every time you ride it? Well, if you’re like me and want that shine and you want that shine to last, then try MAAS Metal Polish and MAAS Metal Protector & Chrome Polish. I tried both products, and compared MAAS to other brands. There is a big difference.
First Impression
I first saw MAAS Metal Polish advertised in a magazine for cleaning silverware. Donna Maas, MAAS CEO, enjoyed beautifully polished metals and silver in her home, however, not the hours it took to keep them tarnish free. When she discovered one instant silver dip product she was using contained cancer-causing ingredients she decided to find a safer and better way to care for the metals in her home.
Her formula, developed in conjunction with a chemist friend, has a mild scent and feels like a hand cream. Made with a base of ultra-refined jewelers rouge, it gently lifts tarnish. The creme is non-flammable and the highly concentrated formula leaves a deep, rich one-of-a-kind luster. To Donna’s surprise, the formula far exceeded her original goal. She soon discovered MAAS not only restored every metal, the polish also restored most non-porous surfaces. It completely renovated a sun-damaged fiberglass boat, removed residue from glass fireplace doors, polished up clouded crystal and glass vases, wiped scuffs and stains from linoleum and plastic lawn furniture. It even reconditioned a Plexiglas windshield. The restorations were so remarkable Donna decided to sell her products.
After seeing the advertisement, I became curious. If it worked that well on silverware, how would it work on the chrome and metal on a motorcycle?
Features
MAAS Metal Polish comes in a liquid and a cream. While the new French lavender scent of MAAS products may not impress motorcyclists, the way the product removes residue, rust, tarnish, and oxidation from metal, plexiglas, fiberglass, enamel, resin, plastic, and glass, will impress you. Because MAAS is concentrated, only a small amount is required to restore areas to their original shine. MAAS Metal Protector & Chrome Polish applies a super-strong corrosion inhibitor to the surface and provides a luster that lasts. The anti-tarnish shield protects all metals, fiberglass, new lacquered finishes, and non-porous surfaces against harsh elements.
I found that applying the metal polish brings the shine back to the surface, and by applying the chrome protector, as the final step, the shine lasts. Yes, there is an extra step, but it is worth it. Other products lack this step and, therefore, lose their shine much faster. By using both MAAS products, you put the shine on, protect it, and make it easy to maintain the shine.
Operation
I decided to test this product thoroughly on a variety of surface and problems. The first thing I noticed was MAAS products have one thing over the others; MAAS dissolves road grime and bugs quickly with very little effort. I like that. The wheels and rims of a motorcycle become filthy within a short distance. MAAS keeps them cleaner and the shine lasts. Just a little wiping and they are back to perfect. I like that, too. Next, I decided to test both products on spokes on a wheel that were blasted months ago by the salt along the coast of California and Oregon. The shine came back! What else could I test? I tried MAAS on a steel rotor, which is not chrome but somewhat polished and rough. To my surprise, after using MAAS products on the steel rotor, it looked like the day I bought it. I didn’t have to rub hard and WOW.
This was fun, so I looked for other things to test MAAS on. I had a motorcycle windshield that had a small rubbed area from a bag hanging on it. I thought, now the real test begins. Guess what? The area is almost unnoticeable now. I used MAAS on my exhaust pipes after 300 miles on the road, including road grime and bugs melted on the pipes. The results were the same, very little effort, and the pipes were like new. And, what about that bluing on the pipes? MAAS did it again. It was gone.
Quality and Value
MAAS products clearly out perform the competition. The shine lasts longer, and because it is concentrated, it took very little of the product to do the job. A whole tube of the competitor’s product was needed to clean the same area, and I did not achieve the same results as with MAAS.
Motorcycle Consumer News tested 28 metal polishes. Their reports states, “MAAS has no equals in all around polishing performance.” MAAS retained its shine longer than every polish tested. MAAS Metal Polish costs $12.95 for the 4 ounce crème, recommended for heavier tarnished items, and $9.95 for the 8 ounce liquid, for use on less tarnished items. MAAS Metal Protector & Chrome Polish, the anti-tarnish shield, is $9.95 for 8 ounces. Products can be purchased online at

Final Thoughts
I had my doubts when I started testing MAAS against my other products. I have pride in my ride as I am sure you do. But, MAAS brings out that little bit extra to make the difference. Rating the products on a scale of 1-10 is easy. MAAS gets a 10 for all areas of performance and cost. Ease of use also rates as very high. No other product is easier and gets results that last like MAAS.
