The BOM is a one step method of cleaning and shining you motorcycle. It is proclaimed to be “quick and easy,” replaces waxing, and replaces “horse and buggy,” detailing technology.

This product is nicely packaged in a 32 oz. spray bottle with an adjustable nozzle which dispenses just enough of The BOM to apply as instructed by the manufacturer.

Our recommendation is that you start with a bike that is free of any “gritty” particles including sand, metal, dust, etc. Perhaps we are overly anxious about the finish on our motorcycles. We do have fine scratches and we do have swirls so we must be doing something wrong.

The manufacturer and distributor of The BOM, BOM Wonder Products, says; “no more buckets, hoses or sponges and no more scratches or swirls.” The BOM “emulsifies and encapsulates the dirt.” In the process, the dirt is removed. Seems too good to be true, but we gave it a try.

On a dull Saturday afternoon, we invited several friends to stop by on their favorite ride, and as a users group, to experiment with The BOM. They were very satisfied!

Application:
The BOM is designed to use on any smooth surface of your motorcycle. This means it can be used on paint, chrome, wheels and windshield. There is no ammonia in the product, so Plexiglas or lexan will not be harmed by the product itself.

Instructions are to apply a small amount of The BOM to a damp cloth or chamois and wipe over the surface to remove the dirt and grime. The cleansing agents remove dirt, grease, grime, bird droppings and water spots without scratching the surface.

After application of The BOM, immediately buff with a cotton cloth. Be sure applicator cloth and buffing cloth are clean and free of granular particles.

The distributor asserts that pre-washing with soap and water are not necessary. We feel that it is always wise to remove any particles with soap and water as a first step. Sand particles adhered to the surface of our motorcycles by road grime after a long ride in the rain, make me nervous.

Quality:
The BOM buffs to a shine and it does not require an inordinate amount of pressure to do so. This is impressive! When you are finished, your paint, chrome and other surfaces do look like new. The surface returns to the deep rich glow that existed when you threw your leg over your motorcycle the first time.

Value:
The product does what the manufacturer says it will do and you really cannot ask for more than that. But there is more!  If used as advised, one 32 oz. bottle of The BOM should be able to do 200 motorcycles. Realistically, lets say you are able to do 100 motorcycles or one motorcycle 100 times. For $25 plus $5.95 for shipping and handling, this is a pretty good value.

The manufacture further claims that The BOM bonds to surfaces leaving them with a protective coating that repels dirt, dust, fingerprints and bugs, etc., and you do not have to wax your motorcycle.

Final Thoughts:
The BOM cleans and polishes your motorcycle with minimal effort. It is very easy to apply and polish and some of the fine scratches or swirls are gone. Your motorcycle will appear clean and bright. The finish is restored to a deep tone. The consensus of the users group was that The BOM was as good or better than other products they’ve tried.

The application can be a bit cumbersome because you have to switch from a wet rag with The BOM sprayed onto it, apply this to a small area and then polish. But, our motorcycle will look very nice when finished.

At $30, including shipping and handling, we think The BOM is a good investment.
