We had the opportunity to experience, first hand, the EconoKIT®H1 designed specifically for Harley-Davidson Motorcycles. This kit is thoughtfully put together and includes things like cable ties, WD40, threadlocker, wire, and electrical tape. These items may be used individually or in combination to patch things up until you get to your destination. 

 

For its intended use; i.e., comprehensive roadside or trailside solutions to unexpected mechanical problems, we found the kit to contain tools that fit 98% of the bolts, nuts and or screws that may need to be removed, replaced or tightened in an emergency situation.

 

Sockets come in two sizes to accommodate the Evolution and prior motors which use a 13/16” Sparkplug, and the Twin Cam motors and Sportster, which utilize a 5/8” Sparkplug. The 8” adjustable wrench and locking pliers can be used for removal and reassembly of larger nuts and bolts and are handy for the creative twists and bends that are sometimes needed to make things fit.   

 

When packed for transporting, the EconoKIT® H1 is 9.5” long by 3” in diameter and weighs approximately 3 lbs.

We have compared the EconoKIT® H1 with other tool kits for motorcycle use and found that you can get more by paying a lot more. In those instances, you have a kit that will take up more space and weigh more, you have tool options that you really don’t need for roadside repair, and there are certain items that you may need, but are not included.

The EconoKIT® H1 has been assembled thoughtfully and with understanding of the type of motorcycle on which these tools will be used. For the budget conscious needing a tool kit, this is a very good choice.
